After unpacking, make sure that the appliance is undamaged and that the door closes perfectly tight. Any damage must be reported to your dealer within 24 hours after delivery of the appliance. Wait at least two hours before switching the appliance on in order to ensure the refrigerant circuit is fully efficient. [. . . ] Take these factors into consideration when setting the thermostat knobs. • The space between the shelves and the rear wall of the refrigerator compartment must be unobstructed to allow circulation of air. • Do not place food in direct contact with the rear wall of the refrigerator compartment. • Storing vegetables with a high water content can cause condensation to form: this will not affect the correct operation of the appliance. 44 60802025GB. fm Page 45 Monday, October 2, 2006 4:31 PM How to use the refrigerator compartment Position the food as shown in the figure. Refrigerator compartment alarms The acoustic alarm is activated when the door has been left open for more than 1 minute. If the door open condition continues for another minute, the inside light will start blinking, and goes off 10 minutes after door opening, whereas the acoustic alarm stays on. Pressing the Acoustic Alarm button (11) will mute the sound, whereas the inside light will continue as described above. To cancel the door open alarm completely, close the refrigerator door. Control panel lock In order to avoid accidental selections (buttons being pressed by contact with packets and/or food, or by children) it is possible to lock the control panel by simultaneously pressing buttons (13) and (15) for 3 seconds; an acoustic signal confirms the function has been selected. With the “Control Panel Lock” function activated, the entire control panel will be locked except for button 11 (alarm reset). An acoustic signal will sound and the message “CL” will appear on the freezer temperature display whenever and for the entire time a key is pressed. 3B 46 60802025GB. fm Page 47 Monday, October 2, 2006 4:31 PM HOW TO OPERATE THE FREEZER COMPARTMENT The freezer compartment has star rating.
